Glove box insert

Just want to confirm that this is how the glove box insert is supposed to look installed. Just seemed odd with gaps around.

Yeah the aftermarket ones are not near as good as the originals.

No. I bought a replacement glove box insert from LMC for my 1969 F100 and there are no edges showing. The edges of the insert go under the metal.

I attempted that but there wasn't enough give in the material to do it. Felt like box would rip.

mrpotatohead is right that the replacements are not as good as the originals. However, I did not have any issues with mine fitting.

Are you sure you have the correct one? The ones for trucks without air conditioners are larger (deeper) than the ones for trucks with air conditioners.
