02 explore 4.0 engine fan

Hey all, my engine cooling fan comes on and the cars power drops to zero. Would it hurt any thing to replace it with an electric one. They have a 16" fan on Amazon rated at 3000 cfm. Would that be enough? Thanks for the help
FWIW it has a built in thermostat that ymturns on at 200* an off at 180*

Yes, you can put an electric fan on any vehicle.. Realize that the fan only needs to work at idle or around town. Driving on the highway you have forced air flow and fan very seldom if ever runs. ................"car power drops to zero" does not sound right.. Is that a fact, or you just notice a small drop ?

Maybe it's just me, but I've never felt anything from the fan on two 4.0 motors.

Is there any thing on the clutch that is electric that needs to be addressed?

Is there enough room to have both electric and mechanical fan?

Fan clutch is mechanical. Is yours locking up, not locking at all or staying locked all the time?

You could put an electric on the other side of the radiator but if your regular fan is working properly you don't need it.

Check your idler as well, make sure that's not fixing to seize up.

Do you know at what temperature the fan clutch comes on?

Best answer I could find, in a somewhat odd place. Short answer: 180 degrees on, 170 off, and that is the air temp at the fan, not coolant temp.

I think there is a electromechanical clutch on the fan. The ECU controls the clutch. It cycles on at 206*
