electric fan

Does anyone know which electric fan could be a bolt on, no mods, to our radiators. I heard that a Taurus would fit, just not sure. Anyone have any suggestions or experience??

I can't answer your question, but have a comment. I replaced my original fan with a lightweight alluminum flex fan and my milege increased and my acceleration improved better throttle responce... But, the fan coudn't keep my engine cool. With the correct electric fan, you may be quite happy. If you find out which fan works, please let me know.

I found this article
FORDMUSCLE webmagazine: Junkyard Electric Fan
Maybe that'll help you. I plan on doing this swap sometime too.

A Clutch Fan conversion can also give you some good results. As well as cool the engine better than a flex fan.

It also doesn't require the mods that a electric fan does.

Just another option...

I don't think you'll find any that will mount without modification because these radiators are so large. The core itself (just the finned area) is about 19 by 26 inches. You can get the through-core type that presses through the fins of the radiator, but those are an AWFUL design and will tear up your radiator.

I installed a 16 inch fan for mine. Even with the extension brackets included with the fan, I still had to make brackets to mount the extensions to the radiator sides. My 16 inch fan keeps my 300 straight-6 with stock compression cool at 190, even in long stop-and-go traffic in the hot Texas sun. Here is a picture of my setup, with drawings for the brackets I made. I used a Be-Cool 2-inch thick fan. I was a little worried at first that the CFM wouldn't be enough to keep the truck cool for such a thin fan, but because of how long the straight 6 is, I didn't have much clearance. But it turned out great! There are rubber bumpers on the inside to keep the bracket bolts from touching the radiator fins. I've got a relay setup that turns the fan on at 185, and back off at 175 using a sending unit threaded into the water pump.
