1995 7.3 Van modest power bump wanted
I have a '95 E350 camper van that I tow and camp with, it's got a 7.3 and E4OD, didn't come with an intercooler, but it has one now. 195k on it.
I just finished fixing the valley oil and fuel leaks, rebuilt the fuel bowl, new mechanical lift pump, all stock stuff. I rebuilt the turbo with 360 deg bearing and wicked wheel II.
While I was at it, I added an early 99 spider, built my own intercooler pipes, and added an intercooler. I also added a bigger transmission cooler and gauges (pyrometer, boost, trans temp. Autometer gauges).
I'm almost finished with the above mods, about to fire it up this week, after a lot of hours working on it... If you've never worked on a 7.3 van, it's a real treat, LOL!
I'm not after a 9000lb hotrod, I'm past all that, I need reliable, long life, good tow rig, decent power wo/breaking the transmission. I'd rather not replace the injectors.
Since I just rebuilt it, I'm committed at this point to keeping the oem fuel system, but I'm wondering if there are some tweaks a guy can do...
Is there something I should/can easily do to take advantage of the intercooler to get a little more power? Increase static fuel pressure? Add a tuner? Leave it alone an smile?
