I have a 99.5 with intake and exhuast. I tow alot with it and am looking for more power and the power to come on a bit sooner.
I am hoping to get around 350-400rwhp and 650-850rwtq range.
So what do I need to get there? I was thinking maybe a new BB turbo and DP tuner along with a tranny rebuild. Would I be able to get there with just the DP tuner? What is the best way to go about this and about how much money should it take?
You might crack 350 on stock injectors but I doubt it. Jody is a magician but not a miracle worker. Also, is it an early 99 or late? Others will chime in I'm sure.
If you want 350 hp on stock injectors, you'll need big oil. That's how my truck is currently set up (big oil, bb turbo, trans, DP-Tuner) and it's a towing monster. But if you want upwards of 400 hp you'll need injectors.

Would injectors yield more power and better mileage than big oil if all the other variables were the same? I am looking at cost versus the improvement factors involved in the changes. I am not looking for a gigantic power increase, but better fuel economy and towing. Would big oil help in this area? I am also lookng to do the turbo/intercooler upgrades, but not at the same time. I want to spread out the 'cost' load.
I'll say this- on stock injectors, i spent $2700 on big oil, and didnt notice much of a power difference at all. Then went back to a stock pump, put stage two's in, and now its night and day over what i had. I would put in a modified single pump (pulse, stealth, send your stock one to Terminator to have it modded), and put a set of stage two single shot injectors. With my stock pump, i made 375hp and 757 torque on a 110idm.. now i have a 140, and 4.56 gears, i hope to break 400/800 by fall

Thanks Kris.
That answered my questions. Where did you get your injectors and what was the cost to reburn the DP chip for the singles? Already have the 140v IDM.
I got them from RDS (the DIY guys) through dpp Power, they were $1330 ish, and the reburn was about $250 cause i had alot of programs deleted and modified.

Kris, were these reman injectors? Also, not sure what you mean dpp Power.
If you're looking for power for towing, there are a number of other things to be considered, won't add power, but it'll keep your 'power-maker' and 'power putter to grounder' in one piece.
Maybe you have them already, but you'll need gauges to monitor everything.
You could look at a different intercooler to help keep EGT's down.
If you do a tranny rebuild, look at a bigger trans pan along with a bigger cooler. I just had mine rebuilt with a Magtech pan(8 qts) and a 6.0L cooler. I haven't hit 150* yet when towing, it's great!
Definitely look at getting a set of air bags for your rear axle. You can get them for a reasonable price and it makes a huge difference in ride quality.
And it will only lower your EGTs when you are all out, *****-to-the-wall in the pedal. Just driving around, you wont see a damn difference unless you go with a hi perf aluminum one.
