On the King Ranch model - I have a 2016 EL, does anyone know if any issues/problems with swapping the 22 inch rims with the 20 inch rims, or vice versa. Not thrilled with how the 22" rims ride and would like a little more tire wall to offer some cushion. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Should be good, just make sure the overall tire diameter is the same.
Like stated above, it will be fine if the overall diameters are the same. The OD is about 32”. 20” OEM wheel/tire combos (275/55R20) are also 32”. F150 wheels will also fit.
How would it know or care what diameter wheels are on the truck?
Common sense says it won't care if the diameter stays the same, but I have heard this from more than one source. I'd love to hear from someone that's actually done it. I could see where the softness of the new taller sidewalls could be an issue. It is Computer Controlled Dampening right? I didn't engineer it so I couldn't tell you exactly how it senses what it needs to. It might not be only the diameter of the tire.
It's all in the suspension, it has a zero measurement programmed (stock ride height). It adjusts according to weight on the suspension, if the back end is lower than the zero setpoint, it adjusts. Has absolutely nothing to do with wheels or tires.
