Help with interior lights.

I'm installing the Recon Big Rig Ice Lights, they have a courtesy lamp function, where is the most convenient / easiest place to splice into the interior light wiring? I'm picking up the turn signals & running lights from the front of the vehicle.
TIA Rob

You looking to splice into the dome light or the dash/instrument cluster lights?

The dome light, so that they come on when you open a door, I know I can tap into the wires by the headlamp switch, just wondered if there is somewhere in the footwell or kick panel that I could splice into, I did have a good wiring schematic but we have a new computer & it's now lost......

You could splice into the lower door light wires that come on when the door is opened. If you are looking for something that is near the kick panels or footwell, I would pop out the light in the door and see what color the wires are and then trace them back to where they come into the cab. Splice into them or just the hot and use a ground at another location close to the actual light fixture. You could trace the hot wire all the way back to where it meets up with the main harness, or just inside the cab.

We need some pictures though too! Recon makes some nice stuff, so pictures are a must.

Thanks Sous, I was forgetting about the lights in the door, that is the perfect solution! I was going to sort it today until it started raining, maybe tomorrow. ....
I'll take pictures though when I do.

Trial fit with tape to check position & level, also time to realise that the sheet metal screws provided aren't up to attaching anything to a Super Duty rocker panel! Everything is now riveted.

I found my wiring diagrams on the new computer, black with light blue is for the courtesy lamps, dome lamp & bed lamp, a temporary connection confirms this & that everything works as it should. Time to solder & shrink wrap all the connections!

Can't really see the effect in daylight, I'll take some night time shots next weekend as I have a really early start tomorrow.
