We went on a trip last weekend and everything was good. I was looking through system check riding down the road and saw my DEF was under half full as per the dash. Never got a message about it just saw it looking thorough the dash stuff while on cruise. Well after we got home I went to move the truck again and got a check engine light with a P21B0 code. And now I can not see my def status in the message center system check. Any thoughts about what to do with this error code ? The truck is a 2011 with 96k on it
Possibly an issue with a DEF sensor. Generally it's not recommended to refill DEF until you receive the countdown message but it may be worth refilling this time to see if the issue clears on its own.
Had the same code a few days ago. Cleared code and it has not come back. Truck runs great. Will buy a jug of DEF for my trip to the coast with my fiver
We put def in it but I’m not sure if it has came back or not as I have not driven it. It has an appointment Wednesday at the dealer because apparently there is a customer satisfaction warranty on that system. 11 year 120k is what they told me from ford
That is CSP 18M01. It is for the reductant heater and sender assembly repair. If they'll claim it under that, you are in good shape. I am unsure if Ford replaces the entire unit for the heater repair (which would include the sensors) or if they replace internal components and reuse the canister (with outside sensors). Based on the almost $900 repair I paid prior to the extended warranty, I guess it's the entire unit.
