Hi @FordService , I have a code P21B0 on my 2014 F250 with only 19k miles on it!! Why wouldn't this be covered under an emissions warranty? The dealer is telling me it's not covered. Can you confirm the fix is the DEF heater?
and sender assembly to 11 years of service or 120,000 miles from the warranty start date of the vehicle, whichever occurs first. If a vehicle has already exceeded either the time or mileage limits, this extended warranty coverage will last through December 31, 2018. Coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners.
It's 2011-2012 F250 through F550. The 2013-2015 is F450 and F550 chassis cab. If Ford Owner and/or OASIS does not identify your VIN as covered, it's customer pay.

I find it interesting that they're covering some models because they know there's an issue but exclude other models. I had 19k miles on a 2014 and it went out!! There's obviously a problem that should be covered.
Yeah, I don't know why Ford only selected the 2011-2012 pickup models. I guess your truck is past 60 months since delivery now? The DEF "system" is covered under the emissions (5yr/50k) performance warranty which I can only guess would include the sender since that is "part of the system." Of course there is always the "certain components" wording in warranty coverage.

Yeah, that's the problem... it's past the 5 years...
I don't have good news. Mine failed at 88,000 and was $841 with labor in Jan 2017. Others here have repaired this themselves and saved quite a bit on the repair. There are a few threads.
