Yes, it does "scoot" pretty well. Fire department hasn't been called yet, but let me get a few more miles on this new engine and we might hear some sirens.... :-)

The engine was replaced with a Blueprint crate engine.
Was panning to reuse the intake manifold, but upon removing it, found that it was cracked in two places and someone had repaired it with epoxy. So I bought an Edlebrock Performer intake.
Was also planning to reuse the distributor (even though it was an HEI), but turned out that it hit the intake manifold, and one of the hoses. So, I bought a MSD Pro Billet Ready to Run distributor and a MSD Blaster coil.
The plug wires were made after buying a kit from Taylor.
The old, rusty (and dented) headers were replaced with a new set of Hookers.
Bought a shiny new Holley chrome fuel pump to replace the old one. It worked three times. When trying to start the truck the 4th time, it failed. Replaced it with a new Edlebrock fuel pump.
Got rid of the old plastic fuel filter and rubber lines. Replaced them with Edlebrock braided lines and installed two inline filters. One at pump and one at carb.
Replaced the alternator, and got rid of the voltage regulator.
Can't see it, but replaced the old starter with a new one. Add wrap to the starter to protect it from the heat of the headers.
The Blueprint crate engine came with chrome valve covers, but a friend had a new pair of Roush valve covers, so I picked them up from him.
The engine also came with a water pump, but turns out it had the connection on the passenger side instead of the drivers side. Had to buy another one.
The truck did not have a fan shroud when I got it, but it does now. Also replaced the old fan.
It did not have a coolant overflow tank either, but now it does.
I was prepared to buy a new radiator, but I had this one cleaned and checked and it passed with flying colors, so I kept it.
New hoses and belts were installed of course.
Did quite a bit of rewiring to clean up all the messy stuff that had been done over the years by previous owners.
So yeah, pretty much all new under the hood.
Thanks! will appreciate it.
