Reading elsewhere, one cause was the alternator. I found this,
The 8mm nut securing the large power connector just twisted off when I tried to unscrew it. I'm going to replace the alternator. But is the cause likely the alternator or something else? Can I wrap some electrical tape around the exposed wires and put it back together?
I sanded down the connector to bright copper, wrapped exposed wires with electrical tape, and put in a new Duralast reman alternator. No recurrence of stalling or code thusfar, but noticed the batter seems to not hold a charge. After driving 30m, it cranks over nice and strong, but after 3-4 hours the cranking power is much less. I'm thinking the bad alternator probably weakened the batter. That's my theory at least.
