OK.. may have made an error in judgement here. I replaced upper and lower ball joints on the front end of my F250 4X4. All went as well as possible, but now I have a bad camber wear on the inside of both tires. When I installed the camber plugs on top of the spindle, i put the flat part of the plug towards the flat part of the spindle (Make sense??) Not sure if I should have put the rounded part of the adjuster towards the flat part of the spindle? Yeah, I looked at Google for pics, and now I am at loss. Please help.
If your tires were wearing okay before you replaced the ball joints then you should have left the camber plugs in the same position you found them in. If you removed the plugs and turned them around, you are going to need an alignment. Did you check your unit bearings to see that they are okay? Busted unit bearings can cause bad camber wear also.
Checked the hub bearings, and they were good. I have no idea if I put the plugs in the same way, as now I am second guessing myself. Tough getting old.
OK. thats where they are at. Tires are not so great brand in the first place, and were wearing with the ball joints going out, so I think there is a possibility that they just kept up the wear after the ball joint replacement. I'll still have an alignment shop take a look and make sure its all good.
