I posted this in the towing section but thought maybe someone here could help me. Thanks in advance

I have a 2017 f250 diesel crew with intigrated brake controller. I have towed 2 new trailers with it. Both times even with the gain set all the way up and the surge setting set To high the brakes are only slightly apply when sliding the actuator lever fully over during a brake check. In fact it seems like no matter what the gain is set on the brakes engage the same and that is barely. I should be able to get a new trailer to lock up I would hope. One trailer was 8000 one was 9500. I read somewheee it may need to be reprogrammed or flashed at the dealer. Any help? Thanks so much!’
You have it set to all the correct settings, like conventional trailer, electric or elect over hydrolic, there is a low medium high setting for brake strength AND the brake setting goes up to 9.9. First one in the dash settings on the trailer set up, second one +/- buttons right beside the controller slide handle. Its also unlikely but possible both trailers had their brake pads set to far away, not adjusted, you would have to rule that out with another truck on same trailer, or another trailer that works on your truck. I have not heard of the re flash thing but indefinably get the dealer to test it and look into. Did you set up each trailer in your dash settings ie Bob's Tandem, Joe's Gooseneck, personal Travel Trailer, and then review all settings and compare to rule out your issues would be where I started. I have pulled several trailers with mine and have not had an issue as yet with any. Works really good. Also, to doa brake tug test, some have to use the slider at over 5 mph for it to actuate.
