Decided to put those dead ended factory plugs along the frame to some use. Purchased the suggested plug that fits and some low budget LED's from Amazon. They're tucked up tight to the bottom of the running board so I don't think there will be any ground clearance issues. I don't off road with it.
Not a bad little low buck improvement.
Here are the parts and the result:
Luv my puddle lights! Lots of guys around here think they are an option on the Lariat.
Mine look the same which is pretty dang awesome for $30; but the dead spot under the running board makes me want to put a second set (or other option) under the RB to illuminate that area.
looks good. Are those lights run off the upfitter switches or something else?
There's factory plugs along the frame that were unused. Ford left a little dummy plug in them to keep dirt out. I've read about them here on the forum many times and learned that they're powered when the other courtesy lights are on for several seconds after the door has been opened and then closed. Decided I'd give it a shot and see what I could do with them.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check that out when my truck arrives.

You're welcome. I figured it was a nice little low buck improvement. If it failed, I wasn't out much money and could always find a use for those LED lights somewhere.
