I'd snag that local engine then. I actually used one of those engine kits too for mine, I think the first one in the kit. Those are Silvolite pistons, I've read they are made by Keith black. It's a good kit. Good luck, keep us posted.

Have you checked craigslist or letgo? maybe find someone selling a truck and get it for the engine?
I saw some 300's not long ago on my local craigslist and I'm much closer than MO, but I doubt they would ship it to VT.
At 800$ I might spend a couple more hundred and get a reman, if you haven't checked those prices out yet.
