I am resurrecting an '84 F-250 for my snow plow truck. It is the lighter duty 250 with the semi float rear axle. One of the front hubs is a Warn Full Turn and the other appears to be factory. I'd like to pur Warn Premiums on both sides, but don't know which axle I have. Any help will be appreciated.
With the semi-float rear the front is almost certainly a Dana 44HD. The alternative would be a Dana 50. The hubs on a Dana 50 almost completely fill the center hole of the wheel while there's a decent gap between the OD of the hub and the wheel with the 44.
There is about a 3/8" gap, maybe even 1/2". The door jam shows 3359 weight rating, while on my 88 diesel shows 4410 weight rating.
Sounds like it is a Dana 44

It's a 44. Ford put the Dana 44HD in even a lot of the F-250HD trucks (the ones with the full-floating 10.25" rear axle). It would've been very surprising to see a Dana 50 with a semi-float rear end. And the hubs and door jam confirm it.
