Special order?

So my wife has decided she likes the limited interior but i’m not sold on the four colors its offered in. I want a stone gray but its only available up to the KR. Is it possible to special order either a platinum or limited in a color other than whats shown on the ford website?

No, Ford is pretty rigid on color choices and option packages. However, you can order a Lariat and option it up to the same content as a Platinum. Also, you can get leather from Katzkins that is sewn in the same pattern as the Limited and pick whatever color you like. Going with a Lariat should save you some on your insurance too.

The only difference would be some trim and badging, which is important to some people. As for me, avoiding the giant plasti-chrome tailgate panel would be a plus.

Thanks, that's what i figured. I've looked into up fitting a lariat and a KR but, when it comes time to trade in i don't see the benefit since it will still just be a lariat or a KR and will be just about the same purchase price as as a platty or limited for initial purchase.

Do your homework. Those highly optioned trim packages suffer a severe loss at trade-in time. While you won’t get anything for adding look-alike seat covers, the loss on the thousands more you’ll spend on the actual Limited trim will likely far exceed the up-fitting a Lariat. And that doesn’t consider the additional payment each month OR cash dropped up front if paid cash.

If you are set on a color, and have to have the badging, how about having it repainted right after delivery? A monochromatic truck repaint may cost far less than if you were doing a full blown switch from a Lariat to a Limited... Sears, leather, console lid, dash, gauges, etc.

Not to mention the ridiculously ugly interior badging on the console lid and seats.

There’s that Texas thing that was brought up a few months ago. Many of us down here don’t like over the top flashy bling on our trucks.

Flashy and truck should not appear in the same sentence unless you're talking about turn signals or emergency flashers.

Yes, it is possible to special order a different color, but you need to order either 5 or 10 (I forgot which) identical trucks to get the special color.
