Battery light is on
I was driving around today and my battery light suddenly came on. I would put my floor to it while driving and the voltage would shoot up and the battery light on the dash would flicker on and off. It finally should up to a little over 13 volts and the light turned off. I started going a few more minutes and the voltage dropped while cruising to 11.80. Now I’m sitting at idle and the battery light is still on. I turned the truck off once I got to my house and started it back up and cranked just fine. The terminals looks good to me also when I check them. Any ideas on what it could be? Maybe the alternator?

The suggestions given are most likely the issue but don't neglect the wiring that plugs into the side of the alternator. I had an instance where the sheathe was intact and the 24g wire had but 2-3 strands holding it together, giving me a bad alternator situation.
Wiggle those and make sure they are solid.

It's almost certainly the alternator. This might help, too, as you seek alternative replacements: 2. Get a better alternator..
