So has anyone yet found a replacement for the lug nuts?
I would like to find stainless steel for use with OEM PVD wheels. So far nothing.
Please explain the washer and cone end nut trick. Have you found them in stainless?
looking for same for my 2010... can’t believe there aren’t non-OEM solutions for these *****astic lug nuts... (we have similar issues on our 2015 Navigator. There’s a class action suit against Ford but I can’t imagine anything will really come of that?)
Keep in mind. If youre running FACTORY WHEELS you need to use the FLAT WASHER BASED lug nuts. NOT the ACORN style. Unless you have after market Wheels. Not sure why the engineering at Ford developed the wheels for flat based lugs.
Yep - that’s why I had to buy the 60 degree washers/adapters.
FYI - Per my conversation with Gorilla, The flat / tapered washer to fit the acorn style lugs is for the locking lug only and is not intended for use on all 8 lugs
Ive purchased these lugs for my truck, they seem pretty nice but the made in China concerns me a little. I did notice the flat washer is smaller than the OE lug washer. I havent used them yet, since I havent rotated tires yet. Will see ...

the above is a link for some chrome units at $2.37 each. Not a horrible price. Just need to find out if the quality is there. With what Ford put on from the factory, it shouldn’t to difficult to match that?

For a hub-centric wheel the machining is much less complicated if you use the flat lug nuts. The lug nut only provides clamping force to hold the wheel in place. Acorn style nuts hold the wheel and center it as well. The flat washers only push one direction on the wheel. Acorn style lug nuts put axial and radial loads on the wheel at the same time.
I personally like the factory style lug nuts for our application. YMMV
I got a set of these in black for my 2019 F250. These are damn nice lugnuts. And they look better than the big chrome center cap to me.
I like the way this looks. I have the machined cast 20s. It doesnt look great with the stock lugs and no chrome hub cap... But almost. Yours look right with the black lugs. Funny I just rotated Thursday and almost left the hubs off after banging hell out of one front one that wouldnt go on all the way. I dont mind the way the hub caps look but they suck to put back on. I rotate at 5,000 miles and did 3 rotations since new. The stock clad lugs are holding in there but the 13/16 socket is tight. Each nut is a pain to get loose from the socket. They are crap but I dont torque them down with the air gun.
I snug them with the gun then torque them with a torque wrench.

Hopefully I can find lugs made here... Ill hold out until my lugs are trashed.
By the way your wheels look great without the hub caps. Next rotation Im leaving mine off too...
Not worth the black and blue pinky...
Yea. I have one I use to put paint lids back on but I don't trust myself banging with the hammer. I think the look without the hubcaps is more HD looking. Utilitarian or something.
I have two F350's and both have the splined lug nuts. I am very happy with them. The older of my two trucks has had the wheels off/on numerous times with no issues.
My '14 came with those sheet metal clad lugs. Never had a problem, did rotations at home no impact wrench.
Got the splined lugnuts with first set of tires when i got new wheels. have worked well, no problems
