2003 6.0 diesel excursion . Recently cleaned MAF sensor and new air filter due to truck losing power and sputtering at around 60mph. Truck will completely die if I apply brakes too hard after about 20 minutes of driving. It run beautifully until around that 20 minute mark.
Would it be a pressure issue? ICP sensor? Bad MAF sensor?
Please let me know of any ideas on how to fix this, because she is my everyday driver.
Thanks!
I'll go ahead and tell you what I'm guessing most on here will say. You have to have some way of reading codes. Do you have any kind of scan tool, Torque Pro, forscan or something of the like . You have to have a way on these motors to monitor different readings.
Icp
Ipr
Eoc temp
Ect temps
Ficm voltage
There are many more. You have to have some info on whats going on to start to diagnose a problem.
You can purchase Torque Pro 4.99 for an Android, forscan 5.99 for Android both can be downloaded for Apple iPhones to.
Elm327 bluetooth dongle for Android. Wifi dongle for I-phones. Somewhere around $30.00.
Definitely a must have for 6.0's
Anyway to pull or monitor data? Are you able to check fuel pressure? Having that information will bring to light a more precious idea of what is happening ideally.

Completely agree with this statement, we need information to help you.
How many miles, past history. It needs 3 things, oil pressure, fuel pressure and electric to run. A metric port is supplied on the upper fuel filter housing for a reading on what fuel pressure you have. Do not throw parts at it, that will get expensive quickly.
I merged both of your posts to reduce confusion and help you diagnose.

I just ordered the LAUNCH OBD2 SCANNER CRP123, it should be here Thursday and I will post all of the data readings.
However I do not have a way to test fuel pressure. Where could I have that done? Local diesel repair shop?
Thanks,

Also, truck is at 185000 miles with rebuilt transmission. It is not bullet proofed yet unfortunately. Working on the financing for that expensive project!
