Bought this and heard a chirp noise, salesman said it was an easy fix. I know lying. Anyways it was a small chirp at first. Usually when driving operating temp. Figured I would swap out the tensioner pulley, replace belt, and replaced 2 idler pulleys. After doing that it seems to have gotten worse. When running between 1,500-3,000 rpms it just squeals god awful loud. It seems with each new part it gets worse. Can anyone give advice on what to do next?? I am lost at this point
The first thing I would do is pull the belt and run it again. If the noise is gone then you know it's up front and need to look further. I bought one that had a loud squeal and I thought it was turbo. Turned out to be broken exhaust bolts on back of manifold driver side. While it may be able to repair in the truck I would recommend a cab pull to repair it. I had a heck of a time drilling broken bolts with the engine out and on a stand. Wound up having to tap a bigger bolt into the hole.
I have also seen the gasket between the two turbos fail and cause exactly what you describe. I had an assistant put some load and RPM on the engine while I moved my stethoscope around until I nailed it down.
