temperature probe port

I'm looking for a port to add an aftermarket temp probe. on my 86 460
The only one available I see is behind the distributor to the left.
If that is an actual spot coolant flows thru. I'm not sure it looks like it could be.
Any other open spots easily accessible? The spot on my 79 I used is being used by I'm assuming the factory gauge.

The other option is cutting a hose and using a sensor attachment. Probably would be the easiest.
Not sure if I want to go that route because of it being dependent on thermostat.
They don't make a heat core hose attachment for probes do they?
The port on the block looks like a lot of soaking with penetrating oil.

Since it seems only crickets are here I'll share this with them.
Found a heater core hose sensor adapter, probably will use that.
