upper heater hose leaking

hi , i have changed my upper heater hose about 3 weeks ago, it had a small pin leak so i changed it. no problem until today when i found another puddle of coolant in my garage. I checked for leaks and again same hose almost same spot. Also it seems to me that the hose was very hot, hotter than usuall.Since my temp gage is not working, i dont know how hot its getting. Before i change the hose again tommorow anybody got any suggestion on why the hose keeps on busting? Thanks

Does it look like something has been rubbing on it? Hood? Fan?

i thought of that too, i let the engine run and watched it and didnt see anything rubbing up against the hose. When i changed the hose the first time i made sure the clamps were tight, maybe too tight it burst near the clamp .maybe thats it?

sounds like you might have a flow issue. you NEED your temp sensor hooked up. get a mechanical temp gauge first . something isnt right and just sitting wont show to much anyhow. that hose may be rubbing on something while your driving and bouncing around. you might have a faulty thermostate or blocked heater core

Maybe you got it too tight. I have heard that if you get them too tight, the clamp will pinch the hose.

ok just too let u guys know, i changed over the hose today no leaks, it had the wrong size hose on , it was a 3/4 hose , the mad people at auto zone sold me the wrong size, put on a 5/8ths hose this time no problem. But as for the flow problem , i replaced the themostat early this spring so i know its not that. The water pump was changed last Fall. I will look into getting a mach gauge so i can see where my temp is at . I bet its kind of high judging by feeling the hoses after running for a while.
