T-Case Plug Torque

Hey guys- I’ve got about 37k on my truck now and tomorrow I’m doing a drain and fill on the transmission and T-Case. I know the T-Case is aluminum and can crack easily. The book says the plug torque is 20 ft lbs but I have a buddy warning me not to go that tight on the plugs- he is saying 12-14 ft lbs max.

What do you guys torque them to?
