Well it's getting close to time to take the rig on the highways again. Although the plugs were changed 2007 the rig wasn't used for any trips last year. A bit shy after a plug blowout I guess.
Anyway before setting out on a 6000 mile trip I'd like to check the torque of the plugs just to be on the safe side. I have all the tools required and will pick up stuff for the boots.
Ok the torque is 14lb ft or 168in lb I have torque wrenches in both measurements.
Getting to the question, kind of stupid, but I want to do it right the first time. Do I just set the wrench to the correct torque and try it on the plug until it clicks or am I supposed to loosen the plug first then set it?
