75 460 Timing chain
I have a 75 F250 with a 460, I am going to be replacing the water pump with a high flow unit. While I have it torn down that far, why not remove the timing chain cover and replace the timing chain with an adjustable double roller timing chain kit. I have read in several places that over time the chain can stretch and it can significantly effect the true timing of the engine that can lead to the motor not running correctly. Right now, it idles great, runs horrible, I stalls out when I shift it into drive or revers, or it will stall out when I let off the gas at low RPM while driving.
This truck had been sitting for over 10 years and I want it reliable, I have had the Carb rebuilt, replaced Plugs, wires, ignition coil, ignition control module, Cap, Rotor, Pickup coil, Reluctor, Vacuum advance. My wife and I are going to be mainly using this truck for hauling and towing.
This is the setup I ordered last night, along with he water pump I ordered.
