Put more pressure on the yoke/companion flange and pass it around again. Next time don't paint the the whole ring gear just do 3 or 4 4 tooth sections.

At first glance, it does appear to be off - I see the dial indicator - what's the backlash?

The pattern looks acceptable to me. Compare to the photos from Yukon Gear installation directions

The pattern should be oval and not flat on one side like your pictures show.

What manufacturer are the ring and pinion set?

Check out the patterns in this article: https://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Gear_Setup/

On the concave side of the teeth, the pattern should be nice and oval.

My thoughts also. Should be a nice oval shape.

Yes it is. But you look good on toe to heal location almost dead center.

With the pattern being *flat* at the bottom of the valley, I do believe you are correct. Pinion too deep.
Otherwise, looks good

Ha! My fingers are too slow! Somebody else posted while I was typing

As I'm about to under take a gear change on a Dana 60 front, I'm curious as to how you determined the pinion depth. I've read vast amounts of info on this. The current pinion is marked +2...and my new pinion is marked 0.
