2013 F 150 5.0, the A/C does not blow very cold, the compressor is running like it should and the low pressure line is cold. So I think it is a blend door issue or something under the dash. Also, the truck is a crew cab and has a black interior. That could have something to do with it too? Seems like it just will not keep up when its above about 75 degrees or so.
Possibly but need to hook up a set of gauges to it to see if it is the system or ………………….
May have to do that, if I can find someone with the gauges. The compressor stays running on both normal a/c and max a/c, so I would not think that there is an issue with the pressure in the system. I would think also that the compressor would not need to run all the time either especially since its rather cool outside right now. The compressor is running all the time and does not kick off.
Just used 2 temp. gauges on the vents, and they both read about 60 degrees on max a/c and about 65 on regular a/c. keep in mind it has been cloudy and rather cool outside the whole evening so far. From what I remember, they should be about 40-45 degrees at the vents.
40 degree output is what you got 10 years ago.......... I think the newer trucks are setup to be more in the 55-60 degree range.. I don't know, but there was a post a few weeks ago......... but I would check the pressures.. If you have proper pressure, you would think you would be hitting the HI side and kick out every now and then.
I have a 2013 Crew Cab XLT 5.0 and the A/C pretty much sucks. It’s been like that since I bought it new. I’ve had my mechanic check it and it was not low on freon. Every summer I think of getting rid of it, It sucks because I really love this truck and I don’t want another truck note.
The other day I took off my shoes while driving and under the dashboard near the middle I could feel some cold air blowing down there. I need to check that out. Any ideas on what is going on under the dashboard? Thanks and good luck OP.
Update: I added a canister of R-134 and it made a big difference, vents are now 45-47 degrees on max a/c (instead of 56-58 degrees) and the compressor now cycles off for 10 seconds and on for 10 seconds.

Use a temp gauge and read how cold the vents are on max a/c. Does the compressor cycle on and off like normal? or is it on all the time OR off mostly then on for a very short while etc..

My temp gauge reads 56-60 pretty consistently. It seems like the compressor is on all the time.
Did you check your system to make sure it was low, or
did you just put it in? Thanks.

I checked it first with one of the cheap gauges that come with the freon cans. It showed low, about 10 psi, so I added an entire can, which I had laying around, and it brought it up to a good pressure. I think it was 25 psi when I was done, and since it was 58 degrees outside last night that was enough pressure.
Mine was doing the same thing, the compressor was on all the time when I had the a/c on, and it was about 56-58 degrees at the vents even on max a/c and when the inside cab temp. was only about 70 degrees. On a hot day, with a hot cab, it would take about 20-30 minutes of max a/c with fan on high to get it cool in there. I have a black interior to that may add to the difficulty of getting that thing to cool off in there.
