If you guys want to run the 70 AMP Circuit Breaker that's fine - realize it is not original and has nothing to do with a restoration.

The wiring diagrams some point to are covering more than just F100/250/350. They also include the BIG TRUCKS.

As Bill stated the 70 AMP Circuit Breaker was only installed on BIG TRUCKS.

C3TZ-14526-A - BREAKER ASSY. FUSE - ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT - 70 amp. - Reset type

C-CT500/1100
N-NT850/1100 "Before Ser. 872,001"
H-HT950/1000
F800/1100, T700/950 "Before Ser. 872,001

C6TZ-14526-B - BREAKER ASSY. FUSE - ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT - 70 amp. - Reset button

N-NT850/1100 "From Ser. 872,001"

No F100/250/350 that I've ever seen had a factory installed circuit breaker. And it makes sense since they didn't according to the MPC, either.

A couple of years ago purchased a 'circuit breaker' thru Green's, the box notes it is reportedly a Ford Service Part #: C5TZ14526J : made by Metal & Control Inc. in Mass. I am not knowledgeable when it comes to automotive electrical circuitry so for years I ran a 40-50 amp breaker purchased thru local parts store w/out any problem thinking if the ALT circuit was going to trip rather it be at a lower amp value, goes to show what I know. Had I come across Crop Duster's set-up I would have gone that route.

Since my truck along with most others on here is a modified. I'll go with a little circuit protection instead of having my Alternator gauge be the only fuse in that circuit. The electrical system in these trucks is primitive at best. You might notice that a few years down the road around 69 I think Ford finally started putting Fuse Links in the system to protect some of the equipment. I'm not a big fan of Fuse Links but they work.

Yep, I don't disagree with you at all - I'm just keeping history straight. Or trying to.

I understand.
Have you ever ran across what Ford charged to add the oil and alt gauges on a new truck?

Prices fluctuated some but October 29, 1965 price sheet I have shows $14.40. Free-running hubs for the 4x4 are nearly $100!

$14.40 sounds cheap now but I was working in a local factory at that time for a whopping 95 cents an hour.
