I'm sure this might be posted somewhere but I didn't see it so figured I'd ask.
I have a 2005 F-150 and installed a Pioneer AVH-1300NEX stereo and backup camera. Wiring wise the only wire I tied into was the reverse sensing wire so they camera would come on when in reverse.
After the install everything stereo works perfect however having other issues all of a sudden. The left turn signal works perfectly fine but the right turn signal is solid (no flashing). If I have the ignition on accessory the hazard lights flash fine but if the truck is running they too are solid and don't flash. At the same time, cruise control will not turn on and doesn't work.
Everything worked good before the install so I cant figure out what happened. Fuses appear fine, many forums referenced fuse #2 and it looks okay.
How did you wire up the camera's power? Are your grounds correct? For a back up camera, it should be connected to a hot lead, a ground, and the back up light from one of your taillights to turn it on when you go into reverse. To my untrained mind, it seems you may not have it grounded properly or you have the switch to turn on the camera tied into the wrong wire.
At the moment I have it disconnected. I ran out of time to run the cables under the truck so I just disconnected the camera portion and have it cooled up. Was going to tie power into the 7 pin and ground the camera back there.
I had it wired up just for testing and it worked. Didn’t think of testing the turn signals and things after installing it. Just noticed it the next morning as I went to drive it.
