I just talked to XDP about the SCT X4 tuner, they said none of their tuners handle the ERG or Cat delete anymore, the only one that does is the GDP Tuner. Does anyone know of a tuner that can handle the ERG delete thats cheaper than $1300?
I called GH yesterday, and have a SCT X4 coming that has a custom tune, I hope it works.
I run his tunes along with Innovative Diesel tunes. The Gearhead tunes are basically "Offroad" tunes (as far as EeePeeAyy is concerned) so they disable the EGR completely. You won't have an option to "turn it off/on". So if you're running the tune the EGR is off. Just an FYI so later on you don't go nuts trying to figure out how to turn it off. The tune does it for you.
Hope I am clear if not ask.
I made a discovery today I figured I'd note it here. The Innovative Diesel tunes does NOT stop the EGR valve from functioning. I monitored the EGR Valve Position % on the Scangauge and could see it opening. For me it doesn't matter since the cooler is welded up both ends.
I switched back to the GH tune and confirmed, at all throttle ranges the EGR does NOT open.
Just thought I'd mention that difference between the two.
little surprised theyre saying the sct x4 cant disable the EGR valve... the canned tunes SCT loads onto them has that as one of the options to turn it off... along with gear and tire changes...
with custom tunes its written in by whoever you buy the tune from..

Im confused. I just talked to these guys. Maybe i dont know the code language but i was told that none of thier tunes incorporate egr delete, that if scanned thier tune would would throw a ‘soft code’. Can anyone translate for me here? Im looking for the same EGR dlete as the OP.

Maybe the EPA had there way with them.
There was that issue with the newer trucks and the DEF systems.
Like I said quite a few of the manufactures got hit by the EPA for a lot of money and
so they might have removed that option. Blame all the DEF system delete deletes.

when i bought my SCT x4 there was an option in the tuners of the canned tunes where you could turn off the EGR monitoring... you eliminated the chance of it throwing the EGR code when the cooler and EGR valve was removed... but there were some that had issues with the cooler gone but the valve remained for the electronic fan to operate normally.. i was one of those that tried option B and ended up having operating problems afterwards... which was the reason i bought the x4 at the time to solve that.. loaded their street tune and in the options was to turn off the EGR...
video of how it was done...theyre showing the x3 and x4 in that video..
thats why im surprised when they saying it doesnt have that option.. maybe its like Sean said and they changed something... but itd be really weird if they did... especially since that was the biggest sell point for those with the 6.0's...
