Tailgate conversion?
I’ve seen plenty of tailgate conversions from the 2008-2016 tailgates to older trucks. I’ve been looking for one but I’m able to find them reasonably priced local. I’ve got a good price on a 2018....ironically.. is it possible to make that conversion?

99-16 will interchange, 08 and up have a different left hinge than the older ones, hinge is still available new from the dealer or online for about $17.
2017 and up is a different body style. It is possible to mount the whole new bed on the older truck, but it looks stupid because the body lines don't match.
