I'm planning to have the front door glass tinted to match the rear factory glass. I've contacted 3 different shops and they all use different film at different pricing. In order of pricing ranging from $120-250- Suntek carbon, 3M(?), Suntek cxp, Llumar ctx ceramic, Xpel(?).
If any of you guys are familiar with the various brands and types of tint, the good and the bad, I would appreciate your input.
Interested in this too. I think the rears are 20%. I don't know if people tint over them, or just do the fronts. Not sure what the rear glass is, I'd say 20% too.
Llumar ceramic is what I have on mine now. I can’t remember the % though. We took a display piece out and compared it to the back. It looks identical from the outside, but I can tell a VERY slight difference from the inside. It will be almost impossible to get an exact match because the rears are dyed glass, and not an applied film.
I had 3M on my previous F150 and wifeys Honda. Ceramic on hers and standard on mine. I could tell a huge difference in the amount of heat coming through. I’ll always use ceramic from now on.
Both brands have lifetime warranties and have held up great. Biggest choice for me was the shop. Tent & Detail shops seem to pop up overnight and disappear just as fast. So I’d go with one that’s well established and has a good price.
I went with Llumar Ceramic all the way around....even over the factory dye'd glass. The factory glass is dye'd and offers no UV protection or heat rejection. I went with a 50% over the factory privacy glass which dropped it to 15% overall. I went with 25% on the front two windows to keep it legal here in my state.

I’m a fan of Huper Optik and it’s what I have on my F-150.
I hope to get some uv blocking clear tint soon on my panoramic roof and windshield glass . Also curious as to what manufacturer's should I be looking for ?

One shop I contacted advertises that they use Huper Optik, but when I called I was told they no longer use it and are doing Xpel film instead. At $250 for the two windows they were the highest priced.

I've had tint on my other truck for 15 years now, I think it is 3M. It's not perfect as far as clarity and color match, but overall pretty good. From the outside I think it looks great, from the inside out there is a bit of difference compared to the factory glass. I would like to get something that is a little better as far as clarity goes for this truck.
The local shops I contacted are well established, it's hard to know how the pricing compares between them since they are quoting different films. The Llumar ceramic was quoted at $180 and the 3M $135. Maybe safe to assume the 3M is not ceramic.

Any tint on the front door glass is illegal here, the lighter the less likely to get cited. I had no idea the factory tint offered no UV protection, that's really disappointing to learn.
20% front 5% over factory rear and back glass No issues at night, the front which looks dark actually looks legal out and about. Had a cop at the Exxon compliment the tint, now the back glass from the outside looks like it was spray painted. Grey interior makes it look darker Scorpion tint
if you want a match go with 20% front and leave the factory tint as is
The rear factory tint is 18%. A lot of people with just tint the front windows with 18% or 20% to match it. Ceramic tint does a much, much better job of blocking heat and UV rays that tradition tint. Even lighter 32% ceramic tint will block more heat and UV rays than darker 5 and 10% traditional tint. The downside is that it cost more than regular tint.
40% ceramic over back factory and 20% on front windows. Matches pretty well. SolarFX is the brand and I have it one both my other vehicles and so far no issues with any of them. Cost was $350 down from $400 regularly but they were having some birthday sale.
I did Ceramic on mine as well. 18% upfront, 70% around the rear and my windshield has 70% (Spectra Photosync, suppose to be the best in heat rejection, used by most Tesla owners)
