Sunroof matching help
Hi, I took my sunroof out of my 2001 f150 xlt super crew yesterday for the standard fix with a sunroof repair kit bought off Amazon. I installed it and tried manually to work the motor to ensure it was installed right. It didn't want to move, so I checked the track, made sure I could move the pieces myself, etc and everything seems fine, so I tried again. It moved about 8 inches, but I ended up stripping the torque screw. Made me mad, but I couldn't find anything wrong, so I installed it and tried it with power. It freaked out and broke a piece off the frame where the cable connects to the frame. Ugh, this simple job just got more expensive. Now I am looking for a replacement from a junk yard. I need the back part of the frame and I think I am going to try a new motor.
I know that these sunroofs were similar for years, but watching videos I can see that they are not exact. What years can be swapped into a 2001? Do they all have the same electrical connectors and mount points or are they different between years?

Thanks CathedralCub. Was fortune and found a 2001 only a state over. Now to install it without breaking it. I think I found the problem. I didn't have the glass installed when I ran it the first time. After watching the video I used as my education on youtube more closely he says I have to have the glass installed or it will break. Typical me.
