I am in desperate need for brakes on my 67 f100 I am trying to decide if I should go Disk in the front or just put in some nice drums. Also what is a good brand and place to buy drums and accessories I can't seem to find a good website that can sort out all the parts I need. Any help would be appreciated.
I can tell you that I got all my parts from Rock Auto. They were all name brand parts. My 71 f-100 with power assisted drums will stop fantastically with no pull. I don't see the reason to convert to discs at all.
Couple $100's and you can Swap the Beams and be Done with it. 73-79. And Have Disc, Cheaper Maintenance................
I agree that an upgrade is probably the best unless you are looked to keep it stock, however, one issue with Ft Disc is fitting some aftermarket Mag wheels around them. however I have discs and just used an adapter to move my wheels out some.
My parts guy spent the better part of an hour trying to find shoes and drums for what I imagine was a highway department 69. I say highway cause it was originally cal trans orange and it appears to have 3/4 ton brakes on a 1/2 ton truck. At the end of the search he told me to go to Amazon as they show specifications on what they are selling. I did and got the right parts at a good price, the next day.
Didn't '67 have the integral front hub & drum assembly like some of the earlier years?
The problem there, as an assembly these are basically unobtanium at this point. The brake drums are available all day long, however the hubs are not. Not new anyway. Not a show stopper, but it requires new wheel studs and using a press to un-install and re-install the hubs onto new drums.
Keep it Stock??????????????Do what?????????? Using all the parts from 73-79 is Stock, and 15" wheels were pretty Standard from these years, Ford probably made a Couple Billion Rims so wheels won't be a Problem.

Keep it stock as in ((Keeping it original to the year of the truck.))
