I recently bought a 1979 Ford f250 Ranger single cab 8 foot flat deck steel body for speed four-wheel drive 400 modified. Among the many things I need to do to this truck I need to replace the passenger side Ford front leaf spring shackle which is rotted beyond belief due to plow frame that has been since removed. If anybody can direct me to a manufacturer reports Warehouse as to where to find and purchase a replacement I would greatly appreciate
Check these guys out. They should have what you need. I ordered the complete rear suspension hangers/shackles for both sides of my truck and have been pleased with them. Great prices as well as good to do business with.
Mark.
Well besides the bracket looks like you need to repair the frame just as bad. ATS does not carry the front bracket for a 73-79 AFAIK. So a JY find is probably your only hope or a FTE member that sells stuff. quadzilla and kingbee might have it?
Need to find used ones, no one makes reproductions, I was just looking for them. I think I saw some take offs on ebay. You could also buy weld on aftermarket spring perches or fabricate your own. I thought I had a good spare set, but like you, when I pulled the plow frame they're were rotted.
That frame is going to need repair, I can see the lower lip is completely gone. How bad is the rest where the plow frame was? My spare frame snapped from the spring pressure within an hour of pulling the plow frame, it was, literally, paper thin.
