Hi, newb here, please go easy
I just purchased this 96 F250 4X4, and was wondering if there should be clamps around the individual leafs for the rear leaf spring stack. Did mine fall off, or are they not necessary? If they are necessary, is it a safety concern, and is it a easy DYI job? Many thanks
Not really, they are mostly for keeping them in place when they build the pack, If you plan to put heavy loads in you can find u-bolts with a square bottom and use them.
Mine were falling apart too. I used these to repair it. You'll probably want a rubber insulator pad on the top. I had to do it twice, since it would squeak without them. You will need to measure the width of the spring pack.
