USB Charging ports

USB Charging ports - I am having no luck getting my 2016 F150 USB ports to charge a certain device...a Sony camera. I can charge my iphone and my wife's Android phone, but when I plug in the camera, I get a message that "this device is not supported". I don't want the truck to interface with the camera...just charge it up. In addition to the error message and no charging, having the device plugged in messed up my navigation until I restarted the truck. Has anyone else found this problem and is there a solution? I could not find any mention of this particular error message in the Owners manual either.
I also tried plugging it in using the regular 110 outlet and got the same message. I haven't tried the cigarette lighter port yet since I don't have a cable.

Are you using the OEM charging cable or an aftermarket one.

My question is, are these USB ports and "cigarette lighters" suppose to be constantly HOT? Mine will only stay hot for a few minutes after shutting down the truck.

Could be the USB cord you're using, cheap ones can cause issues, try getting a higher quality one.

Either use a "charge-only" USB cord to charge the camera or an appropriate USB charger that plugs into the power port.

There are different USB cables for different purposes. So, most likely your camera immediately tries to connect to the media system as a PC. Just take the USB cable for charging only. They are cheap
