Recommendations for Ball Hitch
Hello,
I recently purchased a brand new F150 Lariat w the tow package (not the max tow). It has the 2" receiver but didn't come with a ball or ball mount. Looking for recommendations on where I should go to buy these parts? Searched on Amazon and their parts all max out at 7500 lbs. Need something that can meet the 10,000 lb tow rating. Should I just buy from the dealer?
Thanks,
phish

seventyseven250 is right on the money. The hitch on an F-150 is only rated for the maximum weight when using a Weight distributing Hitch (WDH). If you're using a simple ball mount then your tow ratings are much lower. The hitch itself should have a sticker that says X lbs non-WDH and Y lbs with WDH. My prior 1/2 ton truck had that sticker.

I had good luck with my Blue Ox Sway Pro hitch. As JakeHan said, eTrailer.com is a great place. There is a lot of information on their website and they really know their stuff. I've bought a couple items from them that they sold for less than I could find elsewhere.
Asking, "which WDH?" is a bit like asking, "which oil?" You're going to get a lot of different answers. The specs of the trailer will help dictate which hitch you need.
