I am reletively new to towing and I would like help selecting a pintle/ball combo.
The company I work for can order the stuff, so I would like to get the strongest, most versitle setup for my business and personal use.
I have an 06 f250 4x4 with factory hitch 2x2" (12,500 lb max/1250 max tongue).
Everything at work has lunette eyes and I am looking into a toyhauler or flat bed for quads. Is their a combo that can match my maximum truck rating for ball towing?
I'm thinking a big toyhauler on the ball and heavy diesel generators at work on the lunettes.
You can get a 2x2" hitch that will go in your reciever that a pintle hook will bolt up to. I would just do that with the pintle hook, and then get a weight distributing hitch system with the 2 5/16" ball for your other trailer. They do make combos that have a ball and a pintle on the same hitch, but I have found out that with heavy towing on the pintle it grinds down the inside of the ball so you have to take a grinder to it to smooth it back out to use the ball part of the hitch.
