Do any of you have ideas on how to remove wax residue from any black plastic parts on these trucks? It's Memorial Day weekend, which usually means a monster clay bar and wax session for my truck. I know that I'm going to get something on the plastic, I want it removed if possible. . . . .
If it’s just a small area, I’ve always had great luck just using a toothbrush and some slightly soapy water.
Just get a small cup from the kitchen and put a little water and soap in it, mix it up. Then go clean up the area.
After the residue is removed, the best to prevent future residue is to use a spray on wax / detailer such as Turtle Wax ICE or the equivalent from a competitor.
Turtle wax ice is the best. Any of its waxes you can put on plastic and it will not leave any residue and will protect the plastic. I use it all the time, plus it is a great wax.
A tooth brush and a little non-sudsy ammonia diluted 50 / 50 with water. Dip. Scrub. Wipe.
When you're done, some 303 Protectant on the black bits makes them look great.
