Some tire cleaners.

I've been trying different tire cleaners to find one that works the first time without needing to be toweled to get the grime out. Bleechwhite has been my old faithful standby, but to get the tire clean I'd have to use paper towels and wipe the small areas.

A few weeks ago I tried Turtle wax's new offering and the brush was nice and that's about all the good I can say for it. This weekend I tried Mother's all tire and wheel cleaner. I have found a standby. I sprayed it on, scrubbed with the turtle wax brush and hosed it off. Most all of the brown left with it. Very happy with it.

Use a product called 'Tire Care' made by Permatex, comes in an aerosol can in foam or clear. Not only use on tires but all rubber, or simular type material, as for general all purpose use and may not be what you are looking for. Occasionally spray it liberally in the engine compartment and IMO seems to rejuvenate the hoses, plug wires, fan belts, etc., refer to it as my 10 min. engine detail. Usually use a rag to wipe off residual but really not necessary.

If looking for product that will restore black plastic, vinyl, rubber, etc. came across a product called 'Forever Black'. Have a 90 vehicle where the black plastic trim, rubber guards, and bumpers became whitened thru weather and age, pleasantly surprised with results. Purchased the 2 stage bottle kit, believe it can also be purchased in single, or aerosol. Anyhow, couple others may want to consider.

I'll look for the permatex stuff. I've used Forever black once a long timeago, but I can't remember what I thought of it. Does it go on like shoe edge dressing or leather cream?

The kit I purchased came with a small bottle of cleaner, and another bottle with an applicater, simular to a shoe polish; althought would assume by directions more like a black dye; tape off area(s) that may be effected, don't apply in sunlight, and let set for 15-20 min's, can apply a 2nd coat if desire a "richer luster". It's been awhile since last used, neighbor borrowed it last, will have to check and see what he thinks. Not sure if it means anything, purchased the bottle several yrs. ago and last checked company still in business.

Autobalm tire blackener, it comes in a square, keg like dispenser so that you only use what you need.....Just clean the tires good, spray it on, wait 15-20 min, wipe excess away..... Lasts about 2 wks and actually repells dirt, when you wash the tires again the water will literally just bead up....Also is excellent for hoses, etc under the hood...Makes everything look awesome
