Replace non power seats

I recently bought a 2019 stx/xl with non powered cloth seats. I can't seem to find a comfortable position. Anyone upgrade to a power seat? Will one from a 17-19 bolt right in? Anything you've done to increase the seat comfort?

Thanks!

It will bolt up on the seat frame, what you need to do is find what plugs are there to power all the features of the power seats. It really depends on the options the STX XL could come with. The. Find the seat set with the right plugs, may not be 9 way electric, heated and cooled, maybe 4 or 7 way with just heat for example.

You can add the base xlt power seats, the plugs are there. You will need to make sure the seat is complete along with the module. You can activate via forscan but will need to get some as built data for a xlt to add a drivers seat module.

My Dad looked at doing this exact replacement and was quoted something outrageous like $2500CAD for the dealer to swap out the drivers seat and add the power functions. Ouch.

My dads truck was a company truck and was not allowed to do any modifications to safety equipment unless it was authorized and performed by an authorized dealer.

That’s good to know that the switch can be done for a minimal cost. A company I contract too has a fleet of base model F-150s and everyone hates the seats. Guys can only handle a couple hours of driving before their backs are killing them. I will tell the company about that option. Thanks for the feedback.

Have others that have the basic seats had the same experience ?? Have a 2019 STX on order and wonder if I have to be on the lookout for some new seats as well.

Also have we confirmed that F 150 seats will fit right in. There is some new 150 model, like a Sport or something that has some nice cloth seats, maybe just STX seats with different cover ??
