Hi. New member here. I just picked up a clean 2004 Excursion with 64K miles on it, my first Ex. It has the 40/20/40 split cloth bench seat, which I can live with, but I'd like to add power to the seats. I was wondering if I could use power seat tracks from a bucket seat Excursion/250/350 or will I need to find a power bench from one of them? Thanks in advance for any info. Jeff
No power bench that I know of, but if you want to get rid of the bench post it up for trade and I'm sure someone on here will be happy to swap with you Where are you located? Finish filling out your profile so we can help better

Thanks. I added my location, Winchester, VA. I'm not sure I want to ditch the bench. I might consider it if I could get the same condition seats in return. I figured that there aren't many bench seat Excursions and that they probably didn't come with power, but I thought they may have put power bench seats in some of the Lariat versions of the F250/350. Of course, they may be leather, but I could work around that. I was mostly looking for the power tracks and thought I could just swap out the seat portion. I just wasn't sure if the captains seats had the same tracks as the bench or not.
Based on how the bench seats I've seen work with the slide feature, I don't think you're going to find anything off the shelf or even retrofit. 90% certain you'll be piecing together your own kit. That and bench seats were sort of the base model in anything built ever...
I don't think there's something out there that's strong enough to take care of the leverage of the seat PLUS weight on passengers - ever notice the driver side tends to kick forward or backward first when adjusting the position? You'd need to rig up a motor per side and wire them to work simultaneously to avoid any nasty bind.

Matt, the bench in the Excursion is a 40/20/40 bench, so the driver and passenger each have a complete seat with two tracks and there's a stationary jump seat in the middle. So, I have the two tracks like the captain's seats would have but I just don't know if the bolt holes for mounting the tracks are in the same place on the floor pan. From reading a previous thread on replacing the buckets with a bench, it appears that the mounts may be in different places, at least one or two. I just wanted to check to see if anyone had tried what I want to do and if it's possible to just take the captain's seat tracks, mount my seat on them and just bolt them in. Thanks
That's what I get for not reading everything properly
I believe your research is correct with the seats not being a direct swap - however I think the 40 seats bolt up and the 20 center is the one that doesn't bolt down on either the front or the rear, I can't remember. We've had some people go from captain's and a console to a split bench with good success.
Jeff, was your EX originally a municipal service (Police/Fire) rig? Does it have the rubber floor liner instead of carpets? Does it have both rear heat and air conditioning? That front bench seat is pretty rare and I think most if not all the EXs that came that way were the special service rigs. Any pictures of your rig to share?
A few folks here have removed their center consoles and installed the fixed center seat/console from the pickups, I think you may find that your outboard 40% seat do share common mounting points with standard captains chairs.

Yes, it was originally a SSV that lived it's life in Arizona until 2015 (rust free!). I think it was a Federal vehicle, as, according to the guy I bought it from, it didn't have a cage in back and there were no top mounted lights. There are some small holes in the trim bezel of the rear hatch window where they had lights mounted. Also, it's black, so likely it was FEMA/FBI/Secret Service. However, it is equipped like an XLS or XLT version, so it was probably special ordered. It has full carpeting, 3 rows of seats, plus front and rear AC controls. I tried to attach some pictures here....hope it works. All of the extras on it were installed by the previous owner. I'm probably going to remove the roof rack, as it's likely that I'd never use it and it probably weighs a ton. Since these pictures were taken, he had added Bushwacker flares and 2008 towing mirrors. I was originally looking for a Limited or EB, but with the low mileage of this one, combined with the fact that it spent its life in AZ along with his asking price, it was hard to pass up.

Nice, you found a real sweet rig there!
Mine was an Army Corps of Engineers vehicle with just the basic XLT options including front/rear heat & AC and the cloth 3 rows but we have front buckets.

Thanks. One of the best parts about it is that the previous owner is a Mercedes mechanic and over the last couple of years, he replaced the tie rod ends, spark plugs at 50K, new ProStop cross-drilled, slotted rotors and pads with braided stainless brake hoses, plus Bilstein 5100 series all around, including the steering dampener. He also swapped the 3:73 gears for 4:30s. About the only thing I really need to do to it is upgrade the springs, since I'll be towing our TT with it. I'll probably give ATS a call soon. They seem to come highly recommended here.
