Boost problems P1247

A few weeks ago I was doing a 600mile round trip. On the way back the truck started acting up. Transmission didn't seem to know where to go and had no power. The OD light started flashing, but no ces light. Truck had been giving me a problem starting in park. Had to start it in neutral. Pulled the codes and got P0733 (Gear Three Ratio Error), P01247 low boost, P0781 (1-2 shift malfunction), P0541 (delete installed), and P1106 (Dual Alternator Lower Fault (Control). Replaced the transmission range sensor that I found was bad after inspecting. I cleared the codes. I haven't had anymore transmission issues, or starting issues. Truck had been running fine for weeks. Today the truck suddenly lost power while driving. Engine was working hard, but I wasn't going anywhere. After a while it started to run better, though not nearly as much power as it should have. My boost gauge hasn't worked right in a while, at least I thought it wasn't working. Started up torque pro and it was reading just over 1psi while at 2500rpm. I knew the up pipes were leaking, got replacements waiting for me to have the time. Is there something else I should be looking at since this seems intermittent? If it was just the up pipes I would think it would be all the time. The same if it was a leak in the intake plumbing. Could it be a stuck, or partially stuck wastegate, or EBPV?

Took another drive. Going up an incline didn't get over 9p boost. Exhaust back pressure got up to 26p. Truck did have much bottom end grunt. Could this all be just the leaky up pipes?

The Exhaust Back Pressure gauge reads in "absolute" which means you need to subtract the air pressure at your altitude (almost 15 PSI at sea level) to get a reading akin to "exhaust boost". Pulling 14 PSI from your EBP, that's 12 PSI to go with your 9 PSI boost.

Exhaust leaks on a turbodiesel are very bad juju - they can really let that engine heat up, and they are power/economy suckers. If you're not convinced to get that fixed right-quick, might I suggest you install a pyrometer.

Other than that, you might unplug the ICP sensor and see how the truck behaves.

Explains why she's been eating diesel like it was about to be illegal. Burned through a 1/4 of a tank just driving back to work and back which is about 20miles. Considering it's a 38gallon tank that's extreme.

Be careful, loss of airflow will result in high EGT's, which are detrimental to the beast.

I'll keep the driving to a minimum till I can dig into it. Won't have time off until July. Hopefully I didn't damage the turbo and have to replace it with a much upgraded turbo. That would suck
