Dual exhaust for a 5.0

Dual exhaust for a 5.0
My dad just called me and got some prices for bolt on dual exhaust. He settled on a Flowmaster 817691 system in stainless steel....
Just wondering if he should stay with it or listen to me and go both a different brand. I'm against Flowmaster so I do not recommend them to ANYONE

I've got stainless Flowmaster 10's on my 2011 F-150 5.0L that have been there for roughly eight years and about 63,000 miles (truck had about 8,000 miles on it when I had them installed). I have zero complaints during my time of owning them, No rust, no exhaust leak, no nothing, they still sound great to this day. I do think the Borla ATAK and the Dynomax Bullets sound fantastic, maybe to loud for some but they have great sound. The main reason I went with the Flowmasters at the time was price, I think my whole exhaust set up cost me right around $300 if I remember correctly. Not a bad deal for 8 trouble free years of loud pipes.

If u end up changing it, I recommend BORLA S-Type. I promise there will be NO raspy sound & its high quality SS
"Material Difference:
Many new-model cars and trucks come factory-equipped with a low grade, 400 series stainless steel exhaust. These are an improvement from the old, rusty steel systems and are built to improve durability somewhat. Also, the inferior grade of stainless is the only cheap material that will last through the factory warranty period. But, ferritic stainless steels, which are part of the 400 series of stainless alloys, are magnetic, as compared to Austenitic stainless steels, which are part of the 200 & 300 series of stainless alloys and are non-magnetic. BORLA® incorporates Austenitic stainless, which is superior for automotive exhaust because it exhibits higher hardness and yield strength as well as excellent ductility. And, the higher nickel and chromium content makes it much more resistant to corrosion. Because these austenitic alloys are higher grade materials and harder to work with, they are therefore too expensive for the OE to supply.
High quality, austenitic stainless allows us to back our systems with a Million-Mile guarantee - A BORLA® is a lifetime system!
Performance Difference: BORLA® exhausts are also tuned to maximize the performance output of your vehicle and feature a more attractive and cost effective package than stock."

5.0s will sound very different than a 4.6 or 5.4, all else being equal. Listen to OEM Mustang GTs of both varieties for example.
I know a 5.90 will scoot, but I'm not a fan of their sound.
Back a few years ago, bought a 100% SS system from a relatively unknown "Legato" comp[any, I think it was very much same as FlowMax … it was deep throated, but too loud with drone in the cab. I added a stailess steel 28" long 2-1/2" cored cherrybomb ahead of the short muffler, it helped. Then I added weights to the pipe between the cats & glasspack cherrybomb, and that killed the drone. Just a nice mellow sound.
