War Dog
Of the many things I got done, this one is the least "news worthy".
I installed some weather tech window air visors. I hear its good for 2 more mpg. (a boy can dream right, especially at $3.09 a gallon for diesel).
Nothing sexy, just pure plastic and about 10 minutes of my time.
Before on driver's side:
After on driver's side:
After on passenger's side
Did I mention that War Dog is my daily until I'm done "modding" Captain Tripps?
Going to need every MPG as I just promoted and will now be visiting many facilities in a much larger than a tri-state area, in Captain Tripps.
Going to need to upgrade the interior (in process, more pictures coming)...
MPG, that’s the rough part of driving Excursions if it’s important to you.
But the comfort, capabilities and safety are sure nice to have.
good luck

Running a 7.3 never an issue. Better MPG's than my Denali or Escalade I used to run. I could barely get 16-17mpg out of those old gassers on a good day.
Despite my EX's size, it out performs, out hauls, and does way better overall.
Thanks for the congrats. Been in the works for a year, finally official.
The intent was to make my growing youngest son more comfortable on long trips (LOTO, WI, TX, KOAR, etc.). But now with the new "position" at my company, I may have other occupants riding with, these buckets (IMO) make it more comfortable and look a little more, nicer. Again, IMO.
Either way, the process begins.
So the beginning of the removal was fun, seeing as how the slides were gummed up and would not allow me to access the rear floor bolts. So in my case, I used the tools I had, and my first responder strong better half, and we figured out a way to make the seats "cooperate"
Yes, those tools included a hammer.
As you can see, these seats have been "repaired" by Doctor Frankenstein, literally. Literally the equivalent of "10 footers". Great from a distance, S^%! up close.
Also, I put in new Weather tech's for the floors, but really don't think that needs to be detailed.
So after we "convinced" the seat to slide forward, time to see how these buckets fit, mount, and look overall.
Nevermind what's on the seats, that's for another posting.
Now, what the hell do I do for a console between them.
Oh wait, should I tell you now?
I bought something else this past weekend, inspired by you guys. But to make it work, I need to remove the front console.
Wonder if that (Front console) will fit between these buckets (Hint, I already know that answer).
Either way, my son approves, these seats are comfy, and they look 1000 times better than the Doc Frank seats.

I forgot you had the 7.3. I have the v10 and get around 12 mpg. Much worse when towing in the mountains.
I also have a 7.3 in a obs f250 with 5 speed manual. 17-20 mpg is normal.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Decided to do a modification up front, which would create a need to remove the stock console up front.
But what to do with it? I eyeballed it, was assured by my better half that it won't fit (who was helping me), and decided f it, lets see.
Guess what. Chicken butt.
It fits!
So I brought my youngest out, had him climb in and approve/not approved.
He loved it! Said it was way more comfortable.
Look like I have some mounting and wiring to do.
I'll give you a hint of what that other brand was. It rhymes with Lincoln...oh wait, nothing rhymes with Lincoln but stinkin (phonetically speaking anyway).
Either way, I got a older (2000-01 I believe) Lincoln Navigator console that fits pretty damn good for my tastes. And the color matches.
Hoping to post up this weekend.

For the rear console (from the front originally) I can possibly make a bracket that will utilize the previous mounting holes from the front and shape the bracket to use the 2nd row seat mounts.
As for the Lincoln front console, not sure yet. I will make it work one way or the other, just need to clean it up and plan out what I want to put in the console first.
