gooseneck and 5th wheel hitch

current hitch set up
Im looking for some input on having rails put back into my 2011 F350, the truck currently has a gooseneck under the bed, but i would like to get rails put back so i can pull my trailer, my question is can i keep the existing gooseneck set-up AND install 5th wheel rails, I dont want to use a conversion adaptor on the trailer

I did, but then put a Reese Goosebox on the 5th and got rid of the rails for good. The Goosebox is not an adapter, it's a new pin box and approved by Lippert.

I use an Anderson Ultimate that attaches to the goose ball. Don’t need the rails and you already have the ball. Gonna have to lose or move that tank or tool box no matter what I think.

Looks like a goose box or an adapter is your only option with that tank in there, the 5th plate base sticks forward of its centerline about a foot (centerline will be ~where your ball is). If you don’t have the tank, some rails will fit with some ball mounts, have seen it done, but the other option is to pull the current goose hitch and get a goose mount to fit your new rails. Personally, GooseBox would be the best and simplest, but I hate conventional 5th hitches, so I’m biased .

Even with a goosebox you will likely have to remove the tank. You need like at least a foot of clearance because of the way the box is constructed.

You will defiantly need to remove the tank if you use the goose box. I sold my 06 F-350 to my buddy 2 years ago and he added a tool box to the truck, his goose box hit it and its not as deep as your fuel tank.

On a side note Ive been towing my 5er with a goose box since 2011 and its a great pin box, Ill be adding one to my new 5er when I decide what Im buying.

goosebox looks alright. seems better built then a mumby, ive heard lots of bad from the mumbys adapters that have caused damage to the trailers frame, The main reason i want to have the rails put back is because i have a new 5th wheel hitch ive used 3 times and bought it new. So how do i go about having the rails and the gooseneck ball set up together.(yes im aware the fuel tank will be an issue with rails)
