mystery plug

was changing the oil today on my 1995 f350 with a 460 and saw this connector that wasnt plugged in next to the oil pan. ive only had the truck for 3 weeks now and its been running perfect so i didnt wanna plug it in without knowing what it is,so anyone know what this red plug does? anything helps, thanks.

That is for the engine block heater. That goes right into the block heater it's next to.

It may not be working anymore or the wire connecting it to the cord to the plug in has developed a short.
