I have a 1998 Ford F-150 extended cab. Recently the Driver and passenger side door actuators went out. I had one spare actuator and replaced the driver side but remove the passenger side actuator So the passenger side door does not have an actuator. Recently while driving my truck when I hit a bump the driver side door lock will twitch Lock and unlock. It does not fully unlock or lock it just twitches. I went ahead and checked the wiring in the door to the dashboard on the driver and passenger side to look for any kind of splice in the wire and could not find one I also ensure that there was no connectivity from the passenger door to any metal that would cause it to ground out. I also checked all of the fuses to make sure that they were properly connecting and they weren’t burnt out and did not find any fuse issues. At this point I cannot figure out where the problem is coming from and I am looking for any kind of advice or possible solutions to my problems. Thank you all for any help you can offer.
So than my switches are bad...I mean the truck is 20yo and I have never changed them...??
I'm only suggesting it as a possibility. You could always disconnect the connector from the switch and drive it for a few day to see if it stops happening. If it does stop then I'd say replace the switch, if it doesn't stop then there's likely a wiring harness issue.
